motif64

Install m64

curl -fsSL https://motif64.sh | sh

The script ships with the first release of m64. Until then this line does not install anything yet.

What it will do, in order:

  1. Check the platform: Linux on x86_64 or aarch64.
  2. Install uv if it is missing.
  3. Read https://motif64.sh/dist/latest.json ({version, url, sha256}), download that wheel and check its SHA-256.
  4. uv tool install the wheel, then run m64 doctor.
  5. Print the next command to try.

Running it again upgrades m64. The wheel is served by motif64.sh itself, not PyPI; its dependencies (typer, pydantic, httpx and the rest) come from PyPI as usual.

Read the script before you run it: it is also served at /install.sh.

m64 prints a one-line notice, at most once a day, when a newer release is out. It never updates itself.

What else you need

  • Docker, for the container every capsule runs in.
  • An NVIDIA driver and the container toolkit for GPU capsules.
  • Tailscale, optionally: capsules are served on your tailnet by default, and on 127.0.0.1 without it.

m64 doctor checks all of these and says what is missing.
